Students are admitted in the subjects affiliated to the faculty. BUET is the largest engineering university in Bangladesh. If you want to be admitted in this university, you have to get GPA 5 in SSC and HSC exams.
GPA 5 must be obtained separately in Chemistry, Physics, Science Biology and English. Then you can qualify to apply for the admission test. In addition, first you have to pass the prelim exam. Candidates who have passed can participate in the written exam directly.

At present, the total number of seats in different subjects of different faculties of Dhaka University is 1250. In this case subject wise it is considered.
In the Chittagong Hill Tracts and other areas, the total number of seats for minority candidates is 1215 including 3 reserved seats in Engineering Department and Urban and Regional Planning Department and 1 reserved seat in Architecture Department.
